A panel that decides how many gensets you actually need right now.
A synchronizing panel is required when there is more than one generator in an installation. On electrical mains failure, it calculates the load required by the facility and switches on the gensets needed — not more, not fewer.
After an adjustable warm-up period, the gensets are synchronized on a common busbar via motorized circuit breakers. Once synchronization is achieved, the motorized switches close and load is balanced between the gensets.
Six capabilities every panel gets.
Multi-genset parallel
Designed for installations with 2+ generators that need to run in parallel and share load across the facility.
Mains failure automation
On mains failure, the panel calculates facility load and starts only the gensets needed. Cuts fuel cost on light-load scenarios.
Adjustable warm-up
Programmable warm-up delay before synchronization starts — protect your engines without over-engineering.
Auto load sharing
Once synchronized, the panel balances facility load between gensets. Equal wear, efficient operation.
Motorized breakers
Synchronization uses motorized circuit breakers on a common busbar. Motorized switches close only when sync is achieved.
Type-tested components
Siemens, ABB or L&T switchgear. Components are type- and routine-tested before panel handover.
What a standard build looks like.
Every panel is custom-built to your SLD. The specs below are a representative baseline — final components are chosen based on your fault level, incomer rating and controller preference.
Synchronizing Panel — Baseline
| Incomer / outgoing | As per SLD |
|---|---|
| Busbar material | Copper, size per current |
| Breakers | ACB / MCCB, motorized |
| Controller | Deep Sea / ComAp / approved equivalent |
| Ingress protection | IP42 / IP54 options |
| Relays & metering | Per customer spec |
| Testing | Routine + type tests |
Frequently asked questions
When do I need a synchronizing panel?
Whenever you have more than one generator that needs to support the same load, or when you need to expand a site's backup capacity by adding gensets over time. Synchronized parallel operation is the only way to do this cleanly.
What's the warm-up delay typically set to?
Usually 30–60 seconds depending on engine age and OEM recommendation. It's programmable on our panels.
Can you retrofit a sync panel into an existing installation?
Yes — provided the existing gensets support synchronization (most modern ones do). We audit first and flag any genset controller changes needed.
What documentation do I get?
SLD, GA drawing, cable schedule, component datasheets, routine test report and a commissioning certificate. All delivered with the panel.
