Turn your waste stream into your fuel stream.
OVN manufactures biomass gasifiers based on technology developed and refined at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The downdraft design is one of the best available for producing clean, low-tar producer gas at scale.
The system has three stages — a reactor where biomass is converted to producer gas, followed by cooling and cleaning. The cleaned gas is very low in tar, making it suitable for engines (for power generation) or direct thermal applications.
Six reasons it works.
Agro-waste as fuel
Bamboo, coconut shells, sawdust, briquettes and similar agro-waste are converted into clean producer gas.
IISc-backed technology
Designed and improved with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore — one of the best biomass gasification research groups in India.
Thermal or power applications
The producer gas can be used directly for thermal applications or fed into gas/dual-fuel engines for electricity generation.
Downdraft design
Downdraft gasifier technology — cleaner gas, lower tar, and more consistent quality than alternative designs.
Clean gas output
Integrated cooling and cleaning system ensures very low tar content — extends engine life if the gas is used for power.
Turnkey delivery
Reactor, cooling, cleaning, piping and engine integration — delivered as a turnkey package.
Frequently asked questions
What is biomass gasification?
A thermochemical process that converts solid biomass (like agro-waste) into a combustible producer gas. This gas can then be used for heat, power generation, or blended into existing combustion systems.
What kinds of biomass work as feed?
Bamboo, coconut shells, sawdust, briquettes, and many other agro-waste streams. Size and moisture content need to be in spec — we advise on feedstock preparation.
Can this run my factory?
For thermal applications or captive power, yes — provided biomass supply is steady. Sizing is driven by your load profile and available biomass.
What's the tar output like?
Our downdraft design with integrated cooling and cleaning produces very low-tar gas. Important if you're using the gas in engines — high tar shortens engine life.
Have an agro-waste stream to monetise?
Tell us the biomass type and the load — we'll size a gasifier and estimate the economics.
